NJP-1200D Automatic Capsule Filling Machine — 72,000 Capsules/Hour
Ten stations, 1,200 capsules a minute, on a 100DS indexing box
The NJP-1200D fills 1,200 capsules a minute — powder, pellets, tablets or a combination. It’s the model where we move to the heavy-duty 100DS indexing box, which is what lets it hold that rate without the shaft fatigue that shows up on lighter machines pushed to the same speed.
1.Output: Up to 72,000 pcs/h (Flagship performance for industrial scale).
2.10-Station Indexing:Ultra-smooth 10-station rotary system for maximum precision at peak speeds.
3.Optimized Stability:Reinforced heavy-duty frame designed to eliminate vibration during high-velocity runs.
4.Powder handling: Vibration-assisted butterfly valve hopper — force-feeds sticky herbal powders that jam a screw feeder.
Is the NJP-1200D the right filler for you?
✓ This is a fit if…
- You need around 72,000 capsules an hour and run it as a sustained rate, not a peak
- You're filling powder, pellets, tablets or a combination of them
- Your powder is sticky, hygroscopic or herbal — the butterfly valve hopper was built for exactly that
- You run 00# to 5# capsules
- Your room holds 21 °C ± 3 °C and 40–60% humidity
✕ Look elsewhere if…
- You need under 48,000 an hour → the NJP-800C costs less and does the same job at that rate
- You need more than 72,000 → the NJP-2500C runs 150,000
- You're doing R&D or clinical batches → a semi-automatic filler costs a fraction of this
- Your room can't hold 21 °C and 40–60% RH → fill weight consistency depends on it as much as on the machine. Talk to us before you order
- Your powder is very fine and highly potent → an enclosed rotary machine with dust extraction is not the same as a contained or isolator system. Tell us your OEB band first
- Precision Engineering: Tamping pin technology maintains ±3% accuracy for pharmaceutical powders.
- Rapid Tooling: Switch sizes in under 20 minutes for high flexibility.
- Safe Operation: Automatic emergency stop for all safety parameters.

The D suffix is a configuration, not just a speed step. C-type machines use a water-ring vacuum pump and external-groove cam lubrication. The D adds a dry vacuum pump — no water to refill, no scale build-up — plus enclosed internal-groove cams with automatic timed oiling, and a nano anti-corrosion coating over the same pharmaceutical-grade stainless steel. If your formulation is corrosive or your maintenance team is thin, that’s what you’re paying for.
Butterfly valve hopper with forced vibration
The new hopper utilizes a vibration-equipped butterfly valve mechanism instead of traditional screw feeding. This solves the chronic issue of poor powder liquidity, making it ideal for challenging Chinese herbal medicines and patent drugs.
100DS indexing box
We are the first in the industry to upgrade to the 100DS high-precision cam dividing box (Output shaft diameter: 30mm). This provides larger torque and superior stability, allowing a consistent output of 1,200 capsules/minute without the risk of shaft breakage common in standard 83DS models.
Negative-pressure powder recovery
Features a patented filling pedestal design with integrated negative pressure. If abnormal capsules fail to separate, the powder is instantly inhaled into a collector rather than falling onto the platform, ensuring material yield and preventing mechanical erosion.
One-piece enclosed turntable
The ten-station rotary frame is formed by one-piece processing with no splicing gaps. Equipped with dustproof lip skeleton seals, the completely enclosed system ensures no refueling and no powder ingress for up to three years.
Guideway-driven capsule seeder
The new seeder rack adopts a guideway transmission mechanism. Its enclosed design prevents waste capsule fragments and dust from entering, ensuring accurate capsule orientation and a significantly longer service life.
Automatic timed lubrication
Equipped with an automatic oil supply system that delivers quantitative lubrication at fixed points and times. This maintains the transmission mechanism in peak condition, drastically reducing accessory wear.
How Much API Are You Losing per Batch?
A sophisticated negative-pressure system recycles stray powder, delivering cost savings for high-volume runs.
Keeping Powder Out of the Drive System
The enclosed turntable runs three years without internal maintenance or manual oiling with a dual-lip skeleton dust ring to prevent powder ingress.
Running at 72,000/h Without Losing Fill Accuracy
Unlike smaller models, the NJP-1200D utilizes a 10-station workflow to ensure more precise capsule separation and locking at higher speeds.
Industrial Applications
Herbal and botanical extracts
Poor flowability is the classic reason a capsule line stalls. Herbal powders arch above a screw feeder outlet instead of falling through it. The butterfly valve hopper vibrates the material past that point — this is the case the 1200D was built around.
Hygroscopic powders
Moisture-absorbing powders stick to the mold holes and stop capsules separating. An air jet clears both mold holes on every rotation, which is what keeps the capsule-feeding success rate from dropping through a shift.
Pellets and powder-plus-pellet
Station five is left open for an optional pellet dosing unit. A machine bought for powder today can run powder-plus-pellet later without going back to the factory — tell us if that’s on your roadmap and we’ll leave the interface in place.
High-value APIs and concentrated extracts
When the powder costs more than the capsule, recovery matters more than speed. Two separate lines — one for waste capsules, one for clean powder — mean what you reclaim goes straight back into the batch.
Changeover: what you change and how long it takes
What you changed | What gets adjusted | Roughly how long |
Same capsule, different fill weight | Tamping pin depth on the dosing station | 15-30mins |
Fill weight beyond the adjustment range | Swap the dosing disc for a different thickness | 15-30mins |
Different capsule size | Full tooling set: upper and lower modules, tamping pins, capsule tubes, alignment combs, feeding combs, dosing disc, alignment bars | 15-30mins |
Dosing disc thickness is the second lever. When tamping depth reaches its mechanical limit and you still can’t hit your target fill weight, you change the disc rather than fighting the machine. It’s a physical volume change, not a calibration.
The gaps matter more than they sound. Dosing disc to copper ring: 0.08–0.12 mm. Isolation block to disc: 0.05–0.1 mm. Every disc change means resetting the second one. Too tight and the disc binds; too loose and powder leaks and your fill weight scatters.
Cleaning is the long part. Between products, the powder hopper, dosing ring, upper and lower modules, tamping pins and dosing disc all come out. Parts above the machine table are cleaned with alcohol on lint-free cloth — never gasoline, kerosene, hydrogen peroxide or acetone.
Three things to check before you buy any capsule filler
Fill weight accuracy, verified on your powder
A demo with someone else's material proves nothing. Fill weight accuracy depends on three things together — the machine, your production environment, and your powder's own behaviour. Ask any supplier to run your formulation and show you the actual weight variation across a full run, not a figure off a brochure. We do that at factory acceptance testing before the machine ships, and you see the numbers.
The manual
Your operator sets tamping pin height, dosing disc gaps and vacuum pressure. Those three decide whether your fill weight holds. They need an English manual with the adjustment procedures in it — including the gap figures, 0.08 to 0.12 mm between dosing disc and copper ring, and 0.05 to 0.1 mm at the isolation block. Ask to see the manual before you order.
Installation and training
The machine runs out of the crate. Getting it filling consistently on your powder takes someone who has done it before — most first-run weight problems come from the powder or the room, not the machine, and knowing which is which is the difference between a week of commissioning and a month. Our engineers install it, dial it in on your material, and train your operators.

NJP-1200D Deep-Dive FAQ
The rotary table is fully enclosed with double-lip skeleton seals, and dust extraction ports draw airborne powder away from the filling and separation stations during operation. This keeps the working platform clean and limits powder migration into the drive housing. Note that containment for high-potency compounds is defined by your facility’s OEB classification and verified by surrogate testing — an enclosed rotary machine with dust extraction is not equivalent to a contained or isolator-based system. Tell us your OEB band and we will advise whether the 1200D is a suitable base machine or whether additional containment is required.
The 1200D replaces the conventional screw feeder with a vibration-assisted butterfly valve hopper. The vibration unit keeps material moving through the outlet instead of arching above it, which is the usual cause of bridging with hygroscopic or herbal powders. Downstream, the ten-station layout spreads the filling action across several tamping steps rather than compressing the dose in one stroke, giving the powder time to settle evenly in the dosing bore. This combination keeps fill weight consistent on materials that would stall a screw-fed machine.
With a reinforced industrial-grade drivetrain and our maintenance-free enclosed rotary table, the NJP-1200D is engineered for long service life under a standard maintenance schedule. Because the core gears are never exposed to powder, the wear parts are limited to seals and dosing pins.
Significantly. By eliminating the need for a water circulation and cooling system required by liquid-ring pumps, the imported dry vacuum pump reduces total energy draw and eliminates water costs entirely. Over a 5-year period, the utility savings alone often cover the cost of the pump itself.
Not all capsules are made equal. The Siemens HMI allows you to store specific suction and locking parameters for different capsule brands (e.g., Capsugel, ACG). With one touch, the NJP-1200D adjusts its vacuum intensity and timing to ensure perfect separation and locking, regardless of shell thickness or material (Gelatin vs. HPMC).
The machine performs a controlled stop rather than a hard halt, so the turntable, dosing discs, and tooling are not damaged by an abrupt interruption. After power is restored, the operator must acknowledge the alarm before the machine will restart, so an interrupted batch is never silently resumed. For sites with unstable power, we recommend an uninterruptible power supply for the control cabinet — we can quote this as an option and confirm the data-retention behaviour of the specific PLC configuration in your order.
It depends on your capsule sizes, whether you need the pellet dosing station, and your auxiliary equipment. Send us your powder details and target output and we’ll quote within 24 business hours.
For standard NJP-1200D models, our lead time is 4-6 weeks. Shipping to major U.S. ports (e.g., LA or New York) typically takes an additional 3-4 weeks.
