Flat plate and rotary are two different machines, not two speeds of one. Flat plate stretches the film against a mould with positive air pressure and a mechanical punch. Rotary forms and seals on a drum with line contact. The difference shows up in material waste, changeover time and what the machine costs you per plate — see the comparison below.

Intelligent Automatic Feeding

A versatile feeding system that automatically processes capsules, tablets, and softgels with adjustable speed to match your specific production tempo.

Film-to-Plate Registration

The formed PVC and the foil are aligned before the sealing station rather than at it. Misregistration shows up as a partly sealed pocket, which passes visual inspection and fails a leak test.

High-Integrity Heat Seal

A robust sealing station fuses materials under controlled pressure and temperature, creating a pharmaceutical-grade barrier against moisture and oxygen.

Advanced Film Deliver Device

The linkage deliver structure features multistage tensile control, keeping the aluminum film straight and taut without any folding, even at peak speeds.

Precision Punching Cutter

High-durability cutters perform millimetric slicing of the sealed boards into customized sizes, delivering a clean, professional finish every time.

Industry Applications

AIPAK’s DPP-150E is a high-capacity platform designed to meet the rigorous demands of large-scale pharmaceutical and industrial packaging lines. Its robust engineering supports continuous operation across multiple high-value sectors:

Multivitamin and supplement blisters

10, 20 and 30-count plates in retail formats. A 150 × 120 mm forming area fits more cavities per plate than the 120H, which is where the per-unit cost comes down at volume.

Softgels and capsules

Alu-PVC for standard shelf life, cold-formed Alu-Alu where moisture is the constraint. Both run on this platform with the right feeder.

Larger tablets and odd-shaped items

A 40 to 140 mm stroke handles items the 120H cannot. Send us the item and we’ll tell you whether it forms cleanly at 15 mm depth.

Sterile medical components

Syringes, needles and surgical kits sealed to dialysis paper. Note the paper width here is 130 mm, narrower than the 160 mm film.

What changing over involves

A format set is four stations, not one part.

Moulds and a different feeder entirely

Not a changeover

All four stations sit on a rack mandrel with a ruler. You turn the handle and read the scale rather than aligning by eye — which is what keeps a format change to minutes rather than a morning.

Multivitamin and supplement daily packs

High plate density is what lowers the per-unit cost here. A 260 mm width fits five or six plates a stroke where a 120 mm machine fits two.

Softgel and capsule blisters

Alu-PVC for standard shelf life, cold-formed Alu-Alu for moisture-sensitive fills.

Tropical blister for humid export markets

A second aluminium forming and sealing station added to the same platform.

Effervescent and hygroscopic tablets

Where the barrier is the product’s shelf life, not a cosmetic choice.

What to check before you buy

01

The tooling, not the machine

A format set covers four synchronised stations. Ask any supplier who designs the pocket layout, how long a new format takes to make, and what it costs. That's where a blister project succeeds or fails.

02

The feeder, before you order

An Alu-PVC universal feeder cannot run cold-formed Alu-Alu, and it cannot be converted afterwards. Ask which feeder you're being quoted and what it locks you out of.

03

Installation and training

Ask what's included and what costs extra. The answer varies more between suppliers than the machine price does.

Why Choose AIPAK?

Tooling Is the Machine
On a blister line, the tooling is where the machine is won or lost. A single format set covers four synchronised stations — forming, sealing, embossing and cutting — and they have to work as one. Send us your tablet or capsule samples and we design the pocket layout around your product, not the other way round.
Material and Feeder Matching
Alu-PVC, cold-formed Alu-Alu, tropical blister and medical dialysis paper each behave differently, and so does every feeder type. A universal Alu-PVC feeder cannot run cold-formed Alu-Alu — if you may move into Alu-Alu later, that decision has to be made before the machine ships, not after. We ask about your material and dosage form first, then specify the feeder.
Support & Factory-Direct
You buy from the factory, not through a trading company — which means custom modifications are a conversation with our engineers rather than a request passed down a chain. Remote diagnostics, spare parts and operator training come from the same team that built your machine.

DPP-150E Blister Packaging Machine FAQ

What production scale is the DPP-150E designed for?

The DPP-150E sits in the middle of our flat-plate range. Its 150 × 120 mm forming area and 40–140 mm stroke suit facilities running steady medium-volume batches across several product formats — larger than a pilot line, but without the footprint and utility demands of a high-speed rotary system. For R&D and clinical-trial batches, the DPP-80 is the better fit; for continuous mass production, look at the DPP-260 series or the rotary DPH range.

Can the DPP-150E run both Alu-PVC and Alu-Alu?
It depends on which feeder you specify at order. Some feeder types handle both; the Alu-PVC universal feeder handles Alu-PVC only and cannot be converted afterwards. Cold-formed Alu-Alu also needs a different forming station, because the foil is stretched mechanically rather than softened with heat. Tell us at the quotation stage whether Alu-Alu is in your plan — it’s not a setting you change later.
How long does a format change take — say from a 10-count to a 20-count plate?

A format set is four moulds, not one: forming, sealing, embossing and cutting. All four sit on a rack mandrel with a graduated scale, so you turn the handle and read the scale rather than aligning by eye. 15-30mins for an operator who’s done it before.

The stroke length is a separate adjustment and it’s done on the screen — that part takes seconds.

One thing worth knowing: if the new format also changes your material, that’s not a changeover. An Alu-PVC universal feeder can’t run cold-formed Alu-Alu, and it can’t be converted afterwards.

What types of feeding mechanisms are available for this flat-plate blister packaging machine?
We offer customized feeding configurations tailored to your specific material geography. For standard hard gel capsules and round tablets, a fully automatic disc feeder or planetary pipe feeder delivers maximum efficiency. For delicate softgels, liquids, or highly irregular pill shapes, a manual feeding table or dedicated syringe/pump dosing module can be smoothly integrated.
How does the mechanical stepping stroke control function to reduce plastic material waste?
The machine utilizes a high-precision mechanical linkage combined with an electronic stepping traction mechanism. The feeding stroke length can be set and fine-tuned randomly on the touch screen interface. This ensures millimetric alignment during continuous traction, minimizing the blank border area between blister pockets to maximize material utilization rates.
Can the DPP-150E be integrated with automated online vision inspection or batch printing tools?
Absolutely. Despite its compact size, the platform’s control system supports seamless secondary integration. It can be retrofitted with an optional high-resolution camera tracking system for automatic broken pill/empty pocket rejection, as well as ribbon printers, laser printers, or inkjet batch coding matrices to comply with global pharmaceutical traceability standards.
Is this machine compatible for continuous line integration with downstream cartoning equipment?
Yes. The outfeed station of the DPP-150E can be aligned and synchronized perfectly with our medium-volume entry cartoning solutions, such as the WZH-120 III Intermittent Cartoning Machine. By linking their PLC communication lines, the blister machine’s cutting speed will automatically modulate based on the downstream cartoner’s live handling cycles, forming a cohesive packaging line.

Send us your plate, not just your output target.

Plates per hour is the number everyone asks about, but the one that decides the machine is how many cavities fit on your plate. A 10-count and a 30-count plate at the same hourly rate are two different machines.

Send us a sample tablet or capsule and your current plate layout. We’ll tell you whether 150 mm is the right width, or whether you’d be better off at 120 or 180.
